In September of 2008, my wife Diane and I were visiting my daughter and her family in San Diego. The last thing I remembered before waking up in the hospital is hitting the water in my daughter’s backyard pool. After several months in the hospital my condition was still very fragile, and when I was told that my insurance funding was running thin so we had to begin looking at a discharge plan. The options for discharge were few. My Case Worker at the hospital remembered about The New Start Homes Program in LA and had my wife Diane contact Mary Williams. Not long after that I was on my way to the next chapter of my life at New Start.
