20 years ago during my High School drama class rehearsal I was accidently shot causing me to live the rest of my life as a ventilator quadriplegic. I lived with my father for the first 14 years after my injury. Although I am indebted to my father for those years, I no longer I wanted him to give up his life for me, so I moved out from underneath my father’s care to a nursing home. Within a few weeks of that transition my life changed forever. The visiting physician, Dr Robertson (The Medical Director at New Start) met me and suggested I call Mary Williams at New Start.
