What is a Congregate Living Health Facility?
- A residence in the community that houses no more than six clients and is licensed by the Department Of Health Services.
Can I have a private room?
- Private rooms are reserved for specific needs and availability.
What Medical Oversight is provided at New Start? Is there physician coverage seven days a week? Twenty-four hours a day?
- New Start has its own full-time medical staff which includes a Medical Director- Pulmanoligist, Primary Care Physician – Internal Medicine, Pediatrician and a Psychiatrist – Rehab Specialist.
What are the visiting hours?
- We encourage visiting hours to be after morning care and ending at 10pm.
Can families stay at the homes?
- One family member can stay up to 2 nights on a new admission. Exceptions to this policy are adjusted according to special circumstances or needs of a client.
Am I allowed to drink alcohol?
- Yes, on condition it is approved by the client’s doctor.
Can I bring a pet with me?

What is the average age of your clients?
- The average age is between 25 and 40 years of age.
Is the nursing staff employed by your program or employed through an outside agency?
- The staff is employed by New Start Homes.
Does your program ensure the availability of rehabilitation nursing and respiratory care on a twenty-four hour basis?
- New Start provides 24 hour skilled nursing care.
Is your program accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (The Joint Commission)?
